Great times in OK

A few weeks ago we went down to OK to see Blake and Karla's new house and celebrate Jeff's B-day. In case you ever travel to OK via 44 just know that once you get into OK there are NO places to eat for like an two hours. We drove and drove and drove and finally stopped at the QT. Now we LOVE QT, but really spending $20 on dinner at a gas station, really? Also, while I am on the subject of driving in different states...what is up with tolls? They are completely stupid! Really do they make that much money? After they pay to build and maintain all of those toll buildings and then pay people to work the booth-stupid!!! Just stupid!!
However, we had a great visit. Their house and church is super cute. So good to see them.
The girls absolutely LOVE Blake and Karla and their dogs.
Gracie and Clarence
LeeRoy and Lexi
LeeRoy is 9 months old, and has NO idea how big he is.
The boys went fishing while the girls went to see High School Musical 3.

Happy birthday Uncle Jeff!!

Catch up and Happy Thanksgiving

These are some pictures from the kindergarten Pow Wow. I was unable to go so I sent the health clerk, Tracy, to take pitures. Our football coach also has a child in kindergarten so he went and told Jon all about it. He informed Jon that Lexi would be lucky to make it through school. Jon asked what he meant and he said that a couple times Lexi riped this kid a new one for not doing what he were suppose to do. Bossy or leader, you decide.
Last weekend we spent the night in STL and on Saturday the girls did this with Nancy and Jon and I started and almost finished our Christmas shopping-love that!!! I hate shopping so I am glad I am just about done.
My first semester back in school (started my masters in administration) is coming to an end. Man can I just say school SUCKS!! Can I get an Amen? It was pretty much what I expected. Just hard this time around to manage a full time job, house, kids, and classes-hence the lack of posting.
That's about all that has been happening around here. We went to OK two weekends ago to visit Blake, Karla, and the dogs, those pics will be coing soon.
Have a great Thanksgiving, stay safe, eat tons, and laugh lots!

Maramec Spring

Lexi had a field trip to Maramec Spring. I was so glad that I got to be the "medicine passer outer" and attend with her. It is so beautiful that morning and chilly, yet the kids still had tons of fun feeding the fish, playing on the playground, seeing a bat, and walking through the museum. Here are the pictures I took from the day.

Halloween Night

I gotta admit I am pretty impressed with myself at how inexpensive costumes were this year. Here's how it went...for the longest time they both wanted to be princesses and just wear stuff they had at home, my response, oh OK, sounds good. Well, the week before I started to feel bad so when we went to Wal-Mart we went down the isles and looked through all the costumes. While we were there Lexi decided to be the infamous Hannah Montana. We looked and the cute HM costume was $35, seriously? I am not paying that to dress up like a normal person. So I suggested we see if she had anything at home that we could make into a HM, she was happy with that, one down. Then Gracie just really wanted to be a cat just like Lexi was in her Fall concert, um how easy! So, total I spent $4 for a cat costume that was used more then once. I know you are now impressed too!! Special note: Yes, we do have a HM wig that Lexi got for her last birthday, but in Lexi's words it "is all jacked up" and is unable to look anything like HM any more. It's a shame because it is so much fun to wear wigs on Halloween. But I thought they still looked pretty cute.Since Halloween was on a Friday it was a little bitter sweet. Bitter because Jon had a football game to supervise yet sweet because we were able to attend the Henley crazy Halloween Bash. My whole "Lingua" family was there as well, what fun we had.Whenever my dad is around Gracie is pretty much attached to him like glue. She was so funny as soon as the people would put candy in her bucket she would yell back to my dad how many pieces she got. Very funny.
We had quite a parade of cousins through the neighborhood.

Lexi was not allowed to wear a Halloween costume to school. However, it was red ribbon week and Friday was "career day." So, Lexi choose to be a teacher. Here she is sportin my ID and keys.
Here is your traditional Halloween party toilet paper mummy wrap fun, notice Lexi with yet another picture pose.
I did sneak out of my school and headed to be at Gracie's party for a few minutes. Oh the fun.

SHOCKED!!!!!

No, I am not shocked about the election, I called that months ago. (Even though I didn't vote for him, but whatever.) I was shocked to find out yesterday that I am not in the middle class. All this talk throughout the election about "middle class" this and "middle class" that and I thought they were talking about me and my peeps. Come to find out no I am just a lowly "middle-working class" totally different!! Don't get me wrong I'm totally ok with that, but really stop talking about "middle class" and how they need help, bull crap, anyone who makes on average $200, 000 a year and they can't get their crap together doen't deserve government help they need money management classes!!!!!!!

Fall Concert/Parent Teacher Conference

At our school the kindergarten has a Fall Concert. It was awesome!! Lexi was right in the front and was shaking her hips the entire time!! Everyone around us was like, "Um, I can hear Lexi over everyone!" I was so proud of our little loud mouth, booty shakin' black cat. (They could pick to dress up as a black cat, pumpkin, or scarecrow.) Here she is before we left for the concert, striking a pose--as always!!
I just love the look of admiration in Gracie's eyes in this picture. She so wants to be exactly like her big sister.
Before they started the principal told everyone to find their parents and wave. Lexi is to the right of the kid in the blue shirt.
She was asked to introduce one of the songs. So for a whole week we would ask her what she was suppose to say and she would proudly say, "The Marching Band is Coming to Town!!" I would then say WRONG, "The GOBLIN Band is Coming to Town." Some how she said it right that night!!
We also had parent/teacher conferences a week or so ago. It went great. We talked about how she is right on track with her identifying all her letters, knowing the sounds, and writing them, and numbers is the same. Then Miss Hanks said, "So, do we have any other questions about academics?" When I heard her say that, I immediately thought, "OH CRAP, there is a behavior part and she definitely has something to say." Well, I was right!! Apparently every time the teacher tells the kids to either a) go to the carpet b) line up c) get supplies Lexi takes off and tries to be the first one, not only does she run to get where she is suppose to go, but she holds her hands out to her sides and funnels the other kids to get behind her. GREAT, we got the bossy, pushy kid!! Her teacher says that it's great for those kids that have no clue what is going on, but not so good for the other bossy, pushy kids. Basically, I think her teacher is waiting for there to be some words or physical altercation between Lexi and a couple other kids in class. Let me just say, we were NOT surprised with any of this. Jon and I talked, we like that she is a leader and has a competitive spirit, however, we don't want her to take it too far that kids don't like her for it. Very hard to teach at this age, but we are trying!!
Up next...Halloween pix! I promise it will be soon, I have already downloaded the pictures.
