Not really what I had in mind.

So if you know me, you know that I love cutting the grass. Why? Well I get some sun, exercise, time away from complaining kids, and my dad brainwashed me to like it when I was growing up. Last year when our old lawn mower bit the big one we headed out to buy a new one. Now at the time Jon tried to convince me to buy a rider but I was determined to stick with a push mower again exercise, sun, and time to myself, not to mention the cost of riders. So today I was all geared up to enjoy some happy time to myself outside. When I opened the garage door it was like I hit the turn-off-the-sun-and-turn-on-the-humidity-and-get-ready-to-storm button. Whatever, no problem. So I start. Within minutes I start sweating. Not just sweating from working, I was sweating my gonads off. I know I don't have gonads, but if I did they would have sweated right off!! So, no sun for a tan, sweating ridiculously, and I have yelled at the dog many times who was trying to get off his chain and I have told the kids to get in the house about the same amount of time. I wasn't happy. To make matters worse after I had been PUSHING the lawn mower for about 45 minutes I see my next door neighbor's lawn boys pull up, out jumps one adult, 2 HS kids, 2 super-duper-70 MPH-lawn mowers, a weed eater, and a blower. I kid you not they had her yard DONE in the amount of time it took me to make two complete passes around my yard (10 minutes). I was in lawn mower envy!!! For one split second I thought they might make two big passes in my yard to be nice-no such luck--jerks!! Anyways, I stayed focused on my task at hand, stopped a couple more times to console dog and crying kid and with half the back yard left it starts raining for real. I know what your thinking, "Throw in the towel Ang, there's always tomorrow in the sun!" Oh no the yard was not gonna win! I pushed through, literally and got it done! I do have to say one good thing....neon colored crayons don't loose their brightness even through digestion. It made it very easy to see all the dog poop so I wouldn't step in it.

It's all about Lexi........

A few days ago Lexi had her gymnastics program. She did a great job on the floor and on the bars. Not too many pictures because I was also video taping the whole thing.
Then last week before school was out she had her first field day. It was a lot of fun. In the morning while 1st and 2nd grade was outside Kindergarten had a rodeo in the hallways which is where she got the face paintings. It was perfect weather.
She got real crazy, out of control with the fox tail.
Coach Hohe wanted to make sure they all got wet.

It's all about Gracie....

On Thursday we left Lexi's soccer practice early to attend Gracie's preschool program. She is in the same class as kids that are graduating and heading to kindergarten next year so it was a "combo" program. She did a great job. Jon had senior awards night at his school so I was videoing the program and trying to take pictures....they are not the best.Every kid got an award you will never believe what hers was....DRAMA QUEEN, ok so it wasn't called that, but it had something to do with being dramatic.

On Saturday Grace had her first gymnastics program. For only starting gymnastics 3 months ago, I thought she did a great job.
When she first started she HATED the bars. She would either mysteriously have to go to the bathroom when it was her turn on the bars or she would cry. After a few weeks she over came her fear and started doing it with help from her teacher. During the program she did it all by herself.
She had to make up her own tumbling pass.

Daddy was suppose to be at section track and miss this too, but instead he was home with a high fever, so once again I was videoing and taking pics at the same time, not ideal.

Nothing she has said lately sticks out too much besides...

Me-"Gracie stop talking and start eating."

Gracie-"That's none of your business!" She's a mess let me tell ya.

Question...does anyone have any tricks to preventing cold sores in children? Gracie ALWAYS has a cold sore we use Abreeva, it goes away, and then the next time she is out in the sun it is back. It is so weird because it is always in the same spot (under bottom lip). I know L-lysine helps but with her being so young....? Anyways would love some advice.

What's for dinner?

I absolutely HATE the daily question of, "What's for dinner?" I hear this question probably 50 times a day, on average. Finally the other night when Lexi was asking me for the 40th time that day Jon answered her with, "Well, what are you cooking?" She then freaked out and said she couldn't cook she didn't know how. After we tortured her for about 30 minutes telling her yes she was cooking, she decided she would cook hot dogs for dinner. I showed her which button to push on the microwave and this is what we had...hot dogs, corn puffs, and peaches....yum, yum. Also notice the weeds, I mean beautiful flowers, we had for decorations as well, oh and Gracie in all her sassiness.Hungry anyone? At least I didn't have to cook, right?
