The Perfect Weekend

Don't feel like you have to read this, it will probably bore you.

This weekend Jon actually had NO supervision, so we made plans to hang out, just the two of us. It was wonderful. Here is what we did...

Friday:
1. Dropped the kids off with Nancy. (They spent the whole weekend with Nancy with the exception of a few hours with Alissa and the kids. They had SO much fun.)
2. We had dinner reservations at a fancy restaurant in St. James. I know what you're thinking, St. James? It was fabulous!
3. Came home and just the two of us chilled on the couch. I did fall asleep around 9:00, I am always so tired on Fridays from the week.

Saturday:
1. Woke up at 8:00 because I wanted to. Got up, made coffee for Jon and caught up on blogs, uninterrupted. Jon went and got fresh donuts from the bakery in town--yum, yum.
2. Cleaned out the girls summer clothes and sorted fall clothes. (I actually enjoy this.) Jon watched, and thoroughly enjoyed, the Illini game on TV.
3. Went to see Mr. Woodcock at the theatre. It has been almost two years, maybe more, since I have been to the movies. It wasn't really a pay big bucks kind of movie, more of a last-chance pay-per-view 1.99 movie, however, I was just happy to be there, so it was great.
4. Drove home with the windows down (no one complained it was too much wind), and some country music blaring. Love it!!
5. Once we got home, the outside temp was perfect (can I get an amen?), so we sat on our patio with the tikki torches lit, listening to my new Rascal Flatts CD. Perfect.

Sunday:
1. Drove to STL and went to church at Maryland Hgts to pick up our girls. I loved having a weekend away from them, but was so happy to see them Sunday morning.
2. Lunch with the fam. Good eats.
3. Drove home to get the house on track to start the week.

I feel relaxed and rejuvenated. Another full week ahead of us, but I know we can make it.

Glad you had such a good weekend!! yay! And I forgot that Jon was an Illini fan... as is Nate! We watched the game as well, and oh how happy he was! We really do need to get together soon... somewhere! somehow! :) At least we have blogs in the meantime! :)

Yeah for you! Time together is so priceless, isn't it? Looks like you treasured every moment you could, not only for the two of you, but for yourselves individually.
